Junior League of Los Angeles

Our third FDI session will train our members how to effectively make donation asks. During this session, Katie McGorman, Director of Development for Mount St. Mary’s University will teach the key strategies to presenting a donor proposal, making the ask, and managing the response. This session will include several small group exercises that allow attendees to practice their elevator pitches, major gift talking points, and donor meeting strategies.

Katie McGorman bio: 

Katie McGorman joined JLLA in 2019 and has held numerous leadership roles, including Development VP-Elect, Harvest Boutique Chair, Social & Special Events Co-Chair, and on the Centennial Committee. Katie is a seasoned development professional with more than a decade of experience in educational fundraising and currently serves as Director of Development at Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles. Throughout her career, she has advanced mission-driven institutions through strategic major gifts work and comprehensive advancement leadership. Her previous work includes positions at California State University, Los Angeles, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy, Catholic Education Foundation of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and Dolores Mission Church and School.
