Community Improvement Projects

Contributions to Junior League of Los Angeles are turned into concrete change for our communities led by the power of women. To mark the importance of our Centennial Celebration in 2025-2026, we launched Community Improvement Projects as one of our priority pillars.

Through an innovative partnership with the LA Department of Recreation and Parks, JLLA is renovating and renewing park spaces across the city, reviving important spaces where communities can gather and JLLA can provide programming opportunities. This singular centennial community partnership project is one of the largest community partners in JLLA history, setting the standard for the next 100 years of community empowerment and improvement.

Green Meadows Dance & Movement Studio

In January 2026, we proudly celebrated the opening of the new Dance & Movement Studio at Green Meadows, a Centennial project years in the making and a powerful reflection of what the Junior League of Los Angeles can accomplish together.

This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication and partnership of so many. We extend our deepest thanks to LA City Recreation and Parks, the Green Meadows team, and our partners at Girl Flip Construction for their collaboration and expertise. We are also incredibly grateful to the many JLLA volunteers, especially the Community Improvement Project Committee, whose leadership, vision, and persistence carried this project from idea to reality.

Finally, we offer heartfelt appreciation to our Legacy of Impact Campaign donors. Your generosity made this project possible and ensured that our Centennial would be marked not only by celebration, but by meaningful, tangible change in the community.

We’re proud to highlight one of the most joyful moments from the ribbon cutting: a celebratory performance by the Green Meadows Dance and Cheer Teams. Performed by youth participants from the Green Meadows community program, the performance captured exactly what this space was created to support; confidence, creativity, and a safe, supportive place for girls to move, grow, and shine.

The performance brought the studio to life and underscored the real impact of this Centennial project. Designed to serve community members of all ages, the new studio will provide ongoing movement and wellness programming that strengthens connection and opportunity across the neighborhood. KTLA covered the ribbon cutting and highlighted it was part of the Junior League of Los Angeles’ Centennial celebration. We invite you to watch the KTLA coverage and see the impact your support makes.
